Snapshot: 90's Gold Team Display Update

Although I need to get an Archangel for this display, the new Iceman statue is a great addition.  Don't you think?

I don't know where I would fit an Archangel.

If Bowen releases a museum posed version of Archangel then I would certainly find a place for him.

  1. Awesome display! Mine looks similar but I don't have an Iceman...yet. By the way, where did you get that awesome X-Men poster?

    1. Thanks! Does your display have the Koto Colossus as well or did you go with the Bowen?

The poster is actually just a high res image I found online which I had printed on canvas.

    2. Thanks for the reply! I started collecting X-Men statues rather "late" so I went with the Koto Colossus. I couldn't quite justify paying the asking price for Bowen's.

I'm really trying to get my hands on that poster as that iconic image of X-Men #1 means so much to me. I couldn't find it anywhere so it makes sense that it's a one of a kind. I hope you don't mind me asking but how much did it cost to produce?

    3. The Koto Colossus works great in this display! As far as X-men 1 image goes, here is where you can find it:

As far as getting it printed, I think I paid a little over $100.00. You can find a variety of services online that will print images on canvas, or some other format.

      Good luck!

    4. Wow thanks for the link! The image's resolution doesn't seem that high to yield a good print. What are the dimensions of your canvas print? Thanks so much for all your help!

    5. It's roughly 4 ft x 2 ft. It is the image I used. Perhaps a smalker size might print better. Good luck!

  2. I just wanted to update you and show you my X-MEN Gold Team display now that it's 100% complete. It should look a little familiar ;)

    1. Hey look at that! Did you break into my place and take a photo? :) That looks awesome! I'm glad you were able to replicate what I did (even better since you have Archangel in there). I'm flattered you liked my display enough to do something similar. I know you already had most of those statues in there, but obviously the inclusion of the X-men #1 art was inspired by what I did. CONGRATS!!! DRL

    2. Haha, thanks! I hope you didn't mind but I've always been a fan of that famous Jim Lee piece ever since I first saw it back in the 4th grade. I would even go as far as saying that it's what got me into comic books. When I saw your display, I just knew that I had to have it...as well as the clear version of Iceman (he was the missing piece). Thanks again!

p.s. would you mind if I added you on my buddy list on statueforums? I'm majormaxim.

    3. I don't mind at all. It's great! I can identify with your story. I had a similar experience with that comic. As far as SF goes, I decided a while back to stop going on the statue forums. It was becoming too immersive for me. Now I just have fun with the blog and videos. You can add me but you will not see me there.

      Take care,

      DRL

  3. I just had a question on what you used to raise the height of your iceman statue
