Solve For X 15

The following is a black and white photo of an X that is located on one of the statues in my collection which has already been featured on my blog.  The image may or may not be rotated, so the X won't necessarily look exactly as it would in an upright statue. Your job is to tell me which statue it belongs to.

You can weigh in on the comments section if you think you've  figured it out. Unless it says solved in the post title, the solution is still up for grabs.

Enjoy!

For those X-fans who like a challenge there are plenty of Xs that have yet to be solved.  Have at them my perspicacious sleuthy pals.

Snapshot: Black Logan Custom Statue Updated Paint Scheme

It's time for another Snapshot post, where I post crappy flash photography shots of various parts of my collection. This post focuses on a slight update on the 1/4 scale custom Black Logan statue I've already featured as part of my collection.

That Would Make A Great..."Avengers vs. X-men ( A v X ) " Edition

A v X was the big Marvel event crossover of 2012.  It's a divisive storyline for comic fans.  Some folks loved it and others thought it was worse than the shit that a shit-monster poops into a bowl of barf (to put it nicely).  Regardless of where you land on this subject, what is undeniable is that there was a lot of really great statue potential in the 12 issue mini-series.  Let's explore some of this potential.

Should I or Shouldn't I? - Thunderbird Statue by Bowen Designs

It's time to once again turn the question to you to see if you think I should take the plunge or not with a statue I have yet to buy. I actually had this statue as a pre-order when it was originally solicited by Bowen Designs but cancelled it when I realized that my budget wouldn't quite be able to accommodate it.

That Would Make A Great..."Age of Apocalypse: Rogue" Edition

This is the second post in the Age of Apocalypse "That Would Make A Great" series. As we all know (or are about to know) in the 90's Marvel killed off Professor Xavier in the past and reinvented the present with Apocalypse as the ruler of the mutant dominated world. It was a mind-boggling move for a teenage comic fan like myself to be exposed to which resulted in a permanent reverence for it. Since this essentially became an alternate reality, all the characters in the X-verse (and some throughout the Marvel universe) were redesigned. As a fan of X-statues and this era, I dream of an entire set of these designs being made as statues. Hopefully it'll happen one day.

Today's "That Would Make A Great..." post focuses on the newly imagined design of Rogue. Since all the characters were re imagined, all the designs are too big  for one post. Thus I'll be focusing on them in a variety of posts dedicated to this era.

Beyond My Collection: Deadpool Premium Format Figure

I am not a big Deadpool fan so I won't be getting this statue.  Thus it will always be beyond my collection. My personal character preferences notwithstanding, I can certainly appreciate a genius rendition of a character in statue form when I see it.   This future grail started shipping last week and the collectors that got him seem to be very satisfied.

Snapshot: X-factor Display

It's time for another Snapshot post, where I post  crappy shots of various parts of my collection, to wet the appetite of those that can't wait for me to properly document it.  This snapshot is of the current X-factor display I have set up. It's on the shelf directly below the 80's display.

Only one statue remains to be included.  That is the forthcoming Clear Iceman X-factor statue. I can't wait to finally complete the set!

Collection Display Montage Extraveganza!

I've been asked repeatedly for a video of my displays.  As is generally the case, ask and ye shall receive.

I was going to do something a little bit more polished, but my old Mac wouldn't load.  It had Final Cut Pro on it and is the only means I have of capturing and editing video from my prosumer camera that's about 6 years old.  Thus I decided to simply shoot a bunch of random shots with my HD webcam that I use to shoot all my videos and edit them together on Youtube's editting tool.  What you see is the result of my efforts.  I hope you enjoyed it!

80's X-men Display

This is the second of the many posts highlighting the displays I've managed to throw together with the various statues I've collected over the years.  The photos you see are not of the actual display, but of the same set up placed in an area where I can light them better and give the camera a better look.  It's all intended to give you a good show.

The set I am featuring today is the  80's X-men display which I have worked hard to perfect.

The Stryfe preorder is finally here.  I knew it was coming but I didn't know when.  It was a nice Monday afternoon surprise.  As you can see it looks fantastic.  It's popularity is going to spread like a Legacy Virus (©Marvel).

This is the brand new full sized statue of Stryfe, Cable's evil twin!

X-men: Days of Future Past (Film) - Statue Options 4

©20th Century Fox
Two days ago 20th Fox finally unveiled a version of the complete Sentinel body on their viral site Trask-Industries.com.  It prompted me to write yet another post about this film's statue potential.

X-men: Days of Future Past (Film) - Statue Options 3

©20th Century Fox

At San Diego Comic Con 2013 X-men: Days of Future past finally revealed some official marketing materials as well as part of the design for the Sentinels in the film. Indeed, the giant mutant hunting robots that we all know and love to hate are finally going to make it to the big screen in more than just a cheap Danger Room simulated light up robot head.
