Statue Showdown: Cyclops - X-factor vs. Modern by Bowen Designs

Once again it's time for the statue comparison showdown melee video bonanza you never knew you needed to see.

Warning:  The following video may help you form an opinion you didn't know you needed to form.

That Would Make A Great..."X-treme X-men volume 1" Edition Part 1

Extreme X-men volume one is an interesting comic.  For one thing it was written by Chris Clarement and thus should have simply been a series of stories within Uncanny X-men.  Since Grant Morrison basically became the captain of the X-ship at the time, X-tremne X-men was sort of a way to keep old X-fans happy (this is all conjecture of course).  It actually wound up being pretty bland in its storytelling ( imo ) but the art was very cool.  Salavador Larroca drew some elaborate, detailed and highly styled works that I thought were some of the best since the departure of Jim Lee and Joe Mad.

Production Mishap: Dazzbit

Although the factories that produce the statues generally do a good job, there is always that occasional production mishap that leads to some rather unpleasant results.  For instance:

Snapshot - Gambit Premium Format Figure Sans Coat

It's time for another Snapshot post, where I post crappy flash photography shots of various parts of my collection.  Today I'm showing you something that is not often seen (it's the first time I'm seeing it).  It is the legendary Gambit Premium Format Figure by Sideshow Collectibles without it's cloth coat on.  I got a wild hair up my butt to see what it looked like so I went through the trouble of disrobing the rajin' Cajun.  I decided to put his coat back on after realizing he looks a bit emaciated.  I did manage to snap a couple of pics for your viewing pleasure though.

90's X-men Display

This is the third of the many posts highlighting the displays I've managed to throw together with the various statues I've collected over the years.  The photos you see are not of the actual display, but of the same set up placed in an area where I can light them better and give the camera a better look.  It's all intended to give you a good show.

The set I am featuring today is the  90's X-men display.

Colossus - 80's Custom Statue

Mr. Rasputin is known in these parts, but introductions are always warranted for the sake of U.S./Russian diplomacy.

Snapshot: 70's X-men Display

It's time for another Snapshot post, where I post  crappy shots of various parts of my collection.  Although I've already posted a display post for this set, I thought I would post a snapshot of the set as it is actually displayed.

Solve for X 16

The following is a black and white photo of an X that is located on one of the statues in my collection which has already been featured on my blog.  The image may or may not be rotated, so the X won't necessarily look exactly as it would in an upright statue. Your job is to tell me which statue it belongs to.

You can weigh in on the comments section if you think you've  figured it out. Unless it says solved in the post title, the solution is still up for grabs.

Go for it!

For those X-fans who like a challenge there are plenty of Xs that have yet to be solved.  Have at them my perspicacious sleuthy pals.

Coming Soon: Psylocke - X-force Statue by Kotobukiya - Episode II - Attack of the Psyblade

This is the second post featuring the forthcoming Kotobukiya X-force Psylocke statue.  The first post was part of the SDCC 2013 recap week featuring photos of the statue from the sample displayed on the con floor.  Fortunately Koto has recently revealed some glam shots of the statue which give a better glimpse of how cool this statue is.  She's up for pre-order for those wanting to get an early hold on her.

Beyond My Collection - Sabretooth Street Clothes Statue by Bowen Designs

This is the second Sabretooth statue that I've featured in my collection. Unfortunatly, due to the inevitability of space constraints I have made the sad decision to sell this bad boy.  Fortunately for you I was able to document it before I boxed it up.  So, for your viewing pleasure, I would like to introduce you to the Ultimate Sabretooth.

Collection Post Update - Dazzler Statue by Bowen Designs

In my haste to get all my statues catalogued with pics and vids I may have missed the mark on some of the content I've posted.  Thus, every now and then when I get the chance I will reshoot photos as well as perhaps make new video introductions for the statues I've already posted as collection posts.

The first statue I managed to take new photos of is the Dazzler statue by Bowen Designs.  The updated photos are up and ready for your viewing.  Enjoy!
