A v X was the big Marvel event crossover of 2012. It's a divisive storyline for comic fans. Some folks loved it and others thought it was worse than the shit that a shit-monster poops into a bowl of barf (to put it nicely). Regardless of where you land on this subject, what is undeniable is that there was a lot of really great statue potential in the 12 issue mini-series. Let's explore some of this potential.

For those not in the know here's the breakdown of the major events (spoiler alert - if you haven't read it and don't want to find out what happened, too bad!). The Phoenix is returning to earth and the Avengers and X-men believe that Hope is going to be the host and cause the end of the world.

The Avengers try to stop the Phoenix before it gets to earth and accidentally split the force into five pieces which then possess Cyclops, Magik, Emma Frost, Colossus, and Namor. I'd like to stop here and mention all the cool statues that could be made from the interesting costume designs that resulted from this event.

The image above and this next image could be used to create a really cool diorama of the Phoenix Five.

Namor is a character that has yet to be created as an X-man into a statue. Although this is not exactly his Namor as an X-man look, it is close and pretty cool.

Here are a couple more shots that could be individually or collectively used to inspire an action posed full sized statue, doncha think?
|

This is probably my favorite drawing of Phoenix Namor.

Moving on to the Rasputins, Colossus and his sister Magik look great in their Phoenix garb and thus would make a great diorama or individual set of statues. This image would be an ideal reference.

As is usually the case an action pose is always fun and thus a diorama inspired by this image of the deadly duo feeding the god of thunder his otherworldly ass on a plate would be a winner.
|

If there are statue fans that need more subdued statues, there's always the sitting pose which seemed to have worked for The Thinker, so why not Phoenix Colossus?

Next up is the 2012 Marvel power couple Cyclops and Emma. Cyclops' costume is probably the most interesting of the lot and would make a great statue.
|
©MARVEL |
Emma always brings the sexy, and her Phoenix Five look doesn't break the mold. This image ofd her would make another great statue.

To make the statues as awesome as possible, throwing them together in a couples dio would look great. They could either be friendly/deadly...
|

...or deadly/deadly in a versus type context based on this cover.

Now you might be asking yourself, why would these two be fighting. Well, as the story went, Cyclops eventually wanted the entire Phoenix force to himself so he had to kick some Emma butt to. He did and wound up getting what he wanted. At this point the old Prof X had to step in and try to set his number one student back on the right path of X-ritiousness. As we all know, that didn't go too well, since the Prof Chuck is now unfortunatley deceased. Fortunately though, his last moments before getting the final shaft from Cyke would make a great diorama.

Once Cyclops killed Xavier, all hell broke loose since he went Dark Phoenix...

... and looked ubercool. Thus I think Dark Phoenix Cyclops would make an amazing statue. Just look at these great references:

Phoenix awesomeness aside there are some honorable mentions to be listed on this post of the ancillary (to this story) characters that make cool looking appearances in this miniseries. Such as Storm

Magneto
|

Rogue
|

and of course, who wouldn't love a naked Wolverine burnt to a crisp statue.

The character that definitely deserves some statue love is Hope, the Phoenix love child. There's some cool images in this mini-series that would make great statues, such as

and of course this cover.

Ideally though a diorama of Hope and the Scarlett Witch versus Dark Phoenix Cyclops would make the best piece of all.
I hope somebody makes at least one of these suggestions because That Would Make A Great use of their time!
Couldn't agree more, they could have some good statues made from scenes/designs of the story - on the top would love to get a hope piece made.
